How to achieve fine processing of plastic molds?

The fine processing of plastic mold processing needs to start from multiple aspects, including design, material selection, processing technology and other four aspects:

How to achieve fine processing of plastic molds?

(1) Design stage
In the design stage, appropriate processing routes and process parameters should be formulated according to the characteristics and requirements of the product, and appropriate processing equipment and materials should be selected. In addition, it is also necessary to consider the optimization and improvement of the mold structure to reduce problems such as thermal deformation, shrinkage, and cracks during processing. Especially for large molds, reasonable block design is required in the structure for manufacturing, debugging and use.

(2) Material selection
The material selection of plastic molds should be determined based on the number of parts produced, the types of different plastic raw materials, and the plastic molding process. Generally speaking, aluminum alloy, engineering plastics and high-speed steel are commonly used mold materials. If it is a large-scale production of parts, a more durable and wear-resistant material should be selected; if it is a high-strength processing, high-speed steel materials should be selected.

(3) Processing technology
The processing technology of plastic molds includes two parts: mechanical processing and heat treatment. In terms of mechanical processing, CNC numerical control processing is required to ensure mold accuracy and surface quality. In terms of heat treatment, quenching, tempering, annealing and other heat treatment processes are required according to the material type and mold structure to enhance the mechanical properties and durability of the mold.

(4) Surface treatment
Surface treatment is an important part of ensuring the quality of plastic molds. Before use, the mold needs to be deburred and deoxidized to avoid affecting the molding effect. During the processing, high-precision processing equipment such as optical line measurement and electrolytic polishing are required to ensure that the surface roughness of the mold meets the requirements.

In short, through design optimization, reasonable material selection, refined processing technology and surface treatment, plastic mold processing can be refined, the precision, durability and molding effect of the mold can be improved, the cost and loss risk can be reduced, and customer needs can be better met.
